Re: Estes Cosmic Interceptor

I read about a great way to fill seams on plastic nose cones —CA. Yep, CA. But you sand it after maybe an hour or so, when it is easily sanded. If you wait for full cure, it’s gonna be rock hard. Learned this from the blogger Chris Michielssen (Model Rocket Building). Chris recommends Dollar Store C...

Re: Three Things ‘A Christmas Story’ Reminds Us 35 Years Later

We had not seen the movie in a few years, and watched it late Christmas Eve. Very fun to watch it again. I’m surprised the station wasn’t surrounded by protesters for airing a movie with such horrid ideas.

Re: Have a Hale and Hearty Thanksgiving

Hi All! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We travelled down to Denver to celebrate with our two daughters’ families. We found out our youngest will add another grandchild to our family next July. We have three granddaughters now, so we are wondering if a little boy might show up. Either way, i...

Re: Der Saturn Max

Verna, Thanks for the special recognition of the Der Saturn Max. Actually, this is a standard build, I just beefed up the motor retention. I always planned to fly on the 24/40 RMS hardware. But ... It could be a simple addition to add 4 more motors, either 13mm or 18mm. That nose cone is surely heav...

Re: MPC Taurus-1

The colors look great! I tried Createx years ago in my airbrush and finish looked bad. But I’d really like to revisit using them. Did you clear coat over these? I’d read that clear coating is the secret. Your rocket looks pretty glossy.

Re: Der Saturn Max

almost inspires me to start on my SAT V You must! Since the 50th anniversary is just over a year away, you have loads of time to get it done for that commemorative launch. :) By the way, I swear by a Tamiya tape. I had no issues masking for all the black roll patterns, even taping over corrugated p...

I plan to fly it at NARAM in August. That’s just a short 200 mile drive for us.

Re: Der Saturn Max

Well, we got back from our 5500 mile road trip and did nothing for a week! NSL in Geneseo was fun, but the humidity on this east coast trip kicked our butts good!

I finally ordered my DSM decals from Stickershock. Here is the beast in Max attire.
