Re: Artemis 1/SLS launch...

AND the stupidity continues... been reading some articles over the past few weeks, from the stumbling process of getting a functional operational commercial lunar lander, aka lunar starship, when the orbital starship isn't even working yet and the FAA and EPA seem determined to make sure its delayed...

Basically they're just in it for the attention, and if that means they have to get banned from a big place so long as they...

Re: Trick or treat!

Cont'd... Of course, first morning back from vacation, I have a stupid fracking sand hauler semi pass me at the next stop up the road in the stone dark at 6:30 am, me sitting in the road with my loading lights on red. He slows down and just keeps right on driving around me and passes me on the left ...

Re: Trick or treat!

Thanks Verna... Ok here's something crazy... I know I've been on the bench awhile-- haven't driven a bus the last 10 years or so, drove for Needville ISD for 9 years before that. Now I'm driving at Shiner. First a little background-- Shiner is halfway between Houston and San Antonio, in Lavaca Count...

Re: Indestructible Rocketry parts, Good or bad?

That's why materials are supposed to be frangible, meaning they disintegrate and absorb the impact rather than staying intact and putting that energy into destroying whatever they hit. I've seen some HPR 'cardboard tubes' that had close to a quarter inch wall thickness- at that point it's really not...

Re: The REAL History Of HPR & LDRS . . .

Good to see you here, Dave. Greetings. Interesting... so what's "the rest of the story??" I'm sure you've heard way more about it than I have. I've read his posts on the forums til he was banned, and it never seemed that outlandish to me. Ruffles the wrong people's feathers, I'm sure, but ...

Artemis 1/SLS launch...

Welp us working stiffs had to go to bed, but I did watch the live stream on YT this morning of the SLS launch in the wee hours of the morning... SLS lifted off from Kennedy Space Center overnight and successfully achieved orbit after and 8 minute 3 second burn of the core stage, which was jettisoned...
