Re: Estes Saturn 1B build
Still no paint. It is the last day of April, cold and damp, and the weather cannot decide if it's snowing or raining. It is technically snow, since by the end of the day yesterday the lawn looked white deep down, with the tall grass sticking out. I have not mowed in about 10 days, it has been so cra...

Re: OK, who let GHrocketman out?
Well crap. I had hopes that some "midnight special" B14s were on the horizon.

Re: Opinion time
I've heard more about CATOs than actually experienced. I think living in Colorado, where it is pretty dry, combined with storing my motors in my basement, which sees little change in temperature year-round, makes a big difference. I also keep my motors out of direct sunlight at launches, to keep the...

Re: Createx Airbrush Colors
It has been cold and rainy here. Maybe get some painting in by May, June at the latest!
I'm wondering about my chance of success with Createx. I may just have to go the Model Masters Enamel or Acrylic route.

Well, if a new crop of B14 motors show up, you can figure he was involved and there was some BP on that train ...

Re: Could anyone compete with the NAR?
My friend Eric and I were discussing model rocketry last night. We actually built some tools together for the hobby, he is an engineer/designer/machinist and has a really capable metal shop. We wonder whether we should restart our business (he had to drop out 7-8 years ago due to divorce). We may, b...

Re: GHrocket who?
I'll put up with George's idiosyncrasies maybe more than anyone else. Back in the r.m.r days, the subject of Saturns came up, and I posed some question (and long ago escaped me). Unsolicited, he sent me numerous prints of Saturns he had personally photographed. That generosity stuck with me all thes...

Re: GHrocket who?
I've had him blocked off and on over the years, over on YORF. I get tired of his out-of-left-field personal attacks, and in general, his immaturiosity (I think I made up a new word ...). Then apparently he loans out his password and a few nice or complimentary posts show up.

Re: the fickle nature of E's and F's
Joe, Have you found E12s stocked at a hobby shop or other local store? My local HobbyTown has a huge stock of Estes kits and motors, but I've never seen any E12s. Guess I should do the obvious and ask if they ever stock them. I never have had any of the old FSI E or F motors. As a kid in Colorado, I...
