Re: Merry Christmas!

Oh come on Bernie... where's your sense of adventure?? Keira wanted to go outside and play in the snow the other day... it was a whopping 4 degrees outside at the time. I suggested she wait til later in the day when the temp climbed another couple degrees or so, but no, she wanted to go. Actually, i...

Re: The People's Republic of California

I agree... we've already had an influx of new businesses and people escaping from the last round of California's stupidity... The problem is, a lot of them bring the same sort of twisted mindset with them that makes California such an insane asylum, and then want to spread that mindset of overcontro...

Re: Star Wars - Rogue One

Not yet we were on the road and haven't had time. Now that we're in N. IN, it's too cold (currently well below zero) and the roads aren't exactly great up here either. Supposed to warm up somewhat over the next day or two more towards "normal" for them (still below freezing, however). Anyw...

Re: Merry Christmas!

Cool! Merry Christmas! Well, we safely arrived in the Great White Frozen North! We drove through some blinding rainstorms north of Memphis before we arrived in Sikeston at about 8 pm Saturday night. We were on I-55 when the front arrived (heralded by the van suddenly being shoved sideways about a fo...

Re: Merry Christmas!

Very nice... Merry Christmas to you and yours, and to the rest of the good folks on here! I wouldn't be too discouraged-- this place is practically a beehive of activity compared to a couple of the other new forums which popped up... one has had like one new post in months, and the other isn't farin...

Re: Buying new tools

True... Hope you got an oil-type (piston type)... the "oilless" compressors (which usually have a short-throw free-floating "piston" attached to a sort of metallic "bellows" in lieu of a piston and cylinder) simply DO NOT hold up as long as a conventional piston-in-cyli...

Re: Where should the space program be now?

I recently read an article written YEARS (if not decades) ago by Apollo 8 astronaut Bill Anders... it was a VERY interesting expose on the decisions about what kind of shuttle program we would end up with. It also discussed Bill Anders' reasons for dropping out of the flight rotation and leaving NAS...

Re: Not quite yet for NASA to begin it'[s new focus

I agree... The worst thing that ever happened to NASA was all this "Mission to Planet Earth" nonsense (which we can mostly "thank" Sally Ride for... she proposed it as a way for NASA to continue to do "science" missions "on the cheap"-- it's cheaper and easier...
