Re: Estes Scrambler Clone

While I had the Ultimate Fin Jig out, might as well attach the fins.

May these poor unfortunates rest in peace and the memory of their demise lead NASA back to best path. I realize that losses occur in any such dangerous endeavor, but to lose good people to such neglect as befallen our loses at NASA, is a poor mark on NASA's legacy.

Re: SpaceX just launched 143 satellites...

It's an accomplishment for sure but I'm not that excited to know there are more ways to track us. :mm: Babe, I don't think you have to worry so much about the stuff in space, it seems to me that your movements are being followed closely enough by terrestrial eyeballs. maybe by some even in yo...

Re: Estes Scrambler Clone

I've decided to follow the original instructions as much as possible for this build, so I will be using the three engine hooks on the engine mount. A couple of ideas I also had was to put engine blocks in front of the hooks. I don't know who came up with this idea, but Estes started doing it sometim...

Re: Estes Scrambler Clone

One of the ways to compensate for a loose fitting shoulder on a nose cone or transition is to finish the entire piece. Here I am applying sanding sealer to the transition. 101_1630.JPG Normally when I dip a nose cone in sanding sealer, I hold it by the screw eye. I was concentrating on the low volum...

Re: Tools from Uncle Ted

I pulled out the mini fin jig for my Scrambler build, but the opening is just a bit too small to accommodate a BT 60.

Ya know half the world starving to death sounds like a better idea every passing day honestly. I just don't give AF anymore... this country and this world are full of pe...

Re: Estes Scrambler Clone

As some of you may have noticed, I do not have the nose cone for the Scrambler. The one shown in the parts layout is the nose cone for the Olympus. The outline printed is from a Rock-Sim generated nose cone which doesn't resemble the Scrambler nose cone as seen in pictures. Thus, I am looking for so...

Re: Estes Scrambler Clone

To those observant in the parts layout photo, you may have noticed that I am short a couple of Engine Hooks. I started searching around for them cheap, but most places wanted close to a buck a piece. I did some quick searching for a supplier of spring steel that size and couldn't find anything bette...
