Re: Upgrading the Renegade

Thanks Bernie! I've always preferred field measurements over design drawings and this will be very helpful to me.

I owe you a beer...or two. :D

Re: Upgrading the Renegade

Have you ever heard the expression "Everything's Big in Texas" ? Well it ain't no joke there Partner. That little "pond" contains approximately 20 acres of surface area. Finding any part of that rocket now would be like finding Hillary's heartbeat. But I would like to wet a hook ...

Re: Upgrading the Renegade

Hey Bernie, do you still have the sustainer portion of your Renegade? If so, could you measure the fin dimensions (root, leading edge, tip and trailing edge) for me so I can duplicate them? I have my original Estes instructions and also found them on an Estes data link, but cannot locate any fin dim...

Upgrading the Renegade

With reference to Mid Power-DARS launch Gunter thread, I am doing a re-build of my Estes Renegade two stage rocket. The sustainer stage was lost in Hunt Lake #1, a 20 acre soil conservation impoundment on the site property. It will have to be cloned and rebuilt. The errant flight of this rocket was ...

Re: More oppression on other forums

I admire George's rocket talents, BUT, he's a grade-A KNOB and whiny little A-hole judging by his behavior on the rocket forums. He struts around quoting rules like he's some kind of forum pope and LOOKING for ANYTHING that "offends" him, and then makes a full-on federal case out of it, p...

Re: DARS Launch at Gunter 05/21/16

On Saturday's flight, my booster did visibly tumble with much "flutter". It received no damage other than a bit of mud on the noses of the fake pods. I think I was lucky that it landed the way it did and the grass had already grown 6-12" since it was cut and bailed. I agree about putt...

Re: DARS Launch at Gunter 05/21/16

Thanks for making your Renegade launch video "public". Your video looks very much like my flight of this past Saturday with the rocket weather cocking (can I say that?) strongly into the wind. On a dead calm day, it might have worked but the flapping flags were saying "not today"...

Re: DARS Launch at Gunter 05/21/16

Bernie, I tried to view your Renegade video but it was marked "private". BTW, my first stage booster sans engines weighs in at 74 grams/2.6 ounces. Add in 0.7 ounce for a C6-0 in the booster plus another 3.3 ounces on the sustainer and the total lift off weight is at least 6.5 ounces. Este...
