Neat model and has great components.

That's a bamboo skewer to help align the launch lugs.

Sure hope John Dyer gets back into production.

Is the cradle on the second "table" just to give clearance for the fins? or is it some deeper meaning?

If you look in the Createx thread of the Airbrushing sub-forum of the Tools of the Trade Forum, you will see my Andromeda upon her throne. I used some 1 x 4 that I had sitting around. I cut off a base piece, drilled a hole n the middle of the remaining piece and cut that in half width wise for each end. Then because of the dowls running from the sail fins up the length of the ship, I cut a 6mm gap down from the center of the half circle.

Those steel rods out of the hangers from the store that have the two metal clips on them work TERRIFIC for aligning launch lugs-- they're about a foot long and 1/8 inch diameter, perfect for aligning lugs.

I was hoping to salvage the clips as well-- if you slide them off the rod once you free it from the plastic hanger part, they tend to fly apart. I suppose one could reassemble them using a short piece of wire, maybe salvaged and cut from another similar hanger...

PS. Bamboo skewers make terrific "cable tunnels" and "propellant lines" on the sides of scale and "scale like" rockets where you want to add detail. In fact, I carved a lot of the detail parts, such as retro rockets and ullage rockets, aerodynamic propellant line fairings, etc. from bamboo skewers on my BT-80 Saturn V (that I need to get back to one of these days, when my life is my own again).

Some progress. One coat of Fillercoat on the Delta Syx and two on the Brighton.

I read that Midwest is discontinuing the fillercoat/sanding sealer line. Luckily there are 6 jars each of the filler and sanding sealer here. I have some Sig and will look into the Brodak line.

Do you use a jig on the fins? or just place them the old fashioned way?

I just glued them on the old fashioned way.
