#1 Whoopi lets the secret slip

Post by bernomatic »

Even as Guinan (and I know I am about to speak Star Trek sacrilege) Whoopi Goldberg was a know it all. Ever since she took a seat on the show which shall remain nameless, her opinion of her knowledge of what is good for me has grown exponentially, even forgetting for the moment that she came to fame as a comic.

Inadvertently she let something slip on that show while talking about Alexandria of the Occasional-Cortex.

Listen, let me just say this about Ocasio-Cortez. She just got in on Thursday. She was sworn in, and she’s very opinionated which we like. We like opinionated women. But it is very, very difficult when people make accusations where you say, you know, the Democrats have done nothing, the establishment of the Democrats have done nothing. And I just want to throw this out to you; John Lewis wasn’t sitting still, Dianne Feinstein, wasn’t sitting still.

There are a whole bunch of people in the Democratic Party who have been busting their asses to make sure that women get what they need, people get what they need, children get what they need. So you just got in there, and I know you got lots of good ideas, but I would encourage you to sit still for a minute and learn the job.
emphasis mine.

So, I guess it is up to all those politicians in Washington to make sure that all us peons have what we need. No thank you, Isn't it obvious we need a wall? Isn't it obvious that unborn babies need to have their rights protected? Is Whoopi declaring that all Women, people or children have to do is go to their local politician if they need something and the politician will supply it? I know of a lot of people who have a need for a cure for some diseases. Come on Congress, lets pass that law declaring AIDS as being cured. Have a loved one in a coma? They need to regain consciousness! Email your congressman to let them know you need a bill passed to make your grandmother wake up, I'm sure they will get right on it. Somebody drowning? They need air! phone your Senator and get a resolution passed supplying air under all waters. What a bunch of tripe.

I want more than just what I need, I desire also what I want, and the more the politicians determine what other people need (including those not even citizens of this country), I have a bad feeling, the less I will see of my pay check to get the wants I worked hard to achieve. :x

The same old same old-- nothing new under the sun. Same old communist/socialist tripe. The gubmint must provide everything-- we must all be EQUAL... of course *some* folks (like the Hollyweird types and the "fourth estate") will be more equal than others, and they know it.

They always forget that "a government big enough to give you everything you need is strong enough to take everything you have". Like the communists, so long as *they* are the ones doing the taking, that's not a problem!

That's because you're one of those "evil white men", the capitalist oppressors that need to be punished, reeducated, and deprived of your "white privilege" and forced to carry the shame of your race...

It would be funny if it weren't so STUPID that these morons cannot see that this is EXACTLY the opposite of what their heroes like Martin Luther King were saying back then??? They've come SO full circle that their heads are now inextricably embedded in their asses... so NO WONDER they're talking out of them!!!

Later! OL J R :)

PS. I thought "Guinan" was okay in TNG, even though I was never a fan of Whoppi Buttnugget... I don't really care WHAT her politics are so long as the character is well written and well-acted, and I think it was, more or less. Not my fave character, nor the most hated IMHO... I feel the same way about the whole George Takei/Sulu thing. I could personally care less if George Takei is gay-- his characterization of Sulu and performance in that role over the decades has been very enjoyable, and I liked a lot of Takei's other work in films like "the Green Berets". He's a good actor and I enjoy watching him, however much I might disapprove of his lifestyle choices. BUT, when the crop of "new idiots" in Hollyweird decide to hijack the character of Sulu and turn him queer because the actor that USED to play him was, I call "Bullsh!t" and say "forget it, I'm done" and walk away.
My MUNIFICENCE is BOUNDLESS, Mr. Bond...
