#1 Easter Greetings

Post by Commander »

Everyone have a wonderful weekend and a Hoppy Easter!

And oh yes, if you are of the persuasion, reflect and rejoice on the blessings that the Savior has bestowed on us all with His gift.

Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Happy Easter everyone.

In our beliefs we celebrate "easter" EVERY Sunday through the Lord's Supper as He commanded. I realize that many other churches do things differently and place a lot more "value" on this particular Sunday over all others, as with Christmas, but "it's the thought that counts" and at least Christmas and Easter get people "thinking in the right direction." I second Bernie's and Verna's thoughts wholeheartedly and wish everyone a Happy Easter, even our non-believing friends here, who I hope will reflect on the blessings of life and on time spent with family and loved ones, at the very least.

We plan to attend church tomorrow and are glad to be home tonight... My uncle and his wife and middle daughter came out to Shiner and had a family fish-fry at the farm with my mom, Betty, Keira, and I, and my brother Jay and his wife Leslie. We had a nice time, and left about 8 pm and drove up to Waco Friday night after a nice visit and stayed in the Motel 6 there, then this morning met up with Betty's brother Jim and our sister-in-law Jeannie, who drove down from Indiana to visit their son Jeremy and his fiancee Katherine and meet her parents and see where the wedding will be Labor day next year, and all that. They all made the trip down to Waco so we wouldn't have to go all the way up to Fort Worth to visit them and catch up with them there, plus Katherine and her mother wanted to see "the Silos" (a sort of artsy-fartsy shopping venue that some of those 'house flippers' on TV bought and partially restored and transformed into a tourist trap/separate women with too much money from some of it type thing...) Had a nice visit with them.

The only thing marring our Easter so far is that Wednesday morning, Betty fell down the back steps off the porch-- the wood is getting old and slick, especially when wet-- her feet shot out from under her and she fell and hit her elbow and managed to fracture it, and we had to make a trip to the ER before 7 am that morning. To add insult to injury, she landed in VERY sloppy mud from the inch of rain Tuesday and was covered in mud, and she didn't realize that she landed in a fire ant bed because of the pain and nearly passing out, until they had eaten her up and were all inside her clothes... They sent her home with an Rx for happy pills and a sling, and instructions to follow up ASAP with a specialist. She got in Friday morning about 10 to see one, he put a 'soft cast' on it and a better sling and she has to get an MRI this coming week, and then a follow-up appt with him to decide if surgery or anything else is necessary; at best it'll only need a plastic "hinged cast" that limits but still allows movement but she MIGHT need surgery to correct some issues.

Other than that, we're 1) thankful it wasn't worse and 2) glad we had a nice trip and visit with both sides of the family...

Later and Happy Easter!

We had an awesome Easter. Our youngest daughter gave birth early to daughter Charley on Thursday night, about 3-4 weeks early. We were house sitting for them and able to visit the baby the next day. Mom and baby doing fine, came home yesterday. We headed home, then drove back to Denver this morning. We went to our greater family's traditional Easter get-together today and everyone got to see new baby.

Well, it sounds like some of you had an interesting week leading up to Easter.

Luke, I'm sad to hear about Betty's accident And hope ands pray that her upcoming medical visits show no additional complications. It's also nice when family met you part way and neither has to make a long haul home late at night.

Trident, Mother of all rockets is going to be so jealous when she sees the picture of that cute little bundle of joy! She has been wanting a grandchild for a while now. Myself, I can wait a bit more.

Thanks guys! Our family seems to know how to make girls. We have two daughters, our oldest has two daughters, and youngest daughter just had a daughter. :)

Our older grand daughters have flown rockets twice. I'm hoping to take them launching this year now that our fire bans have been lifted.

Verna, I just had to post a follow up picture for you. Little Charley turned 4 months a few weeks ago. Hard to believe she was a preemie, she is a chunky 15 lbs. now.

We feel blessed!
