Why do political pundits in the press report stuff that middle America has known about for a while as if it were news?
As if it were fresh off the press, (pun intended), articles are coming out about the biases behind the "fact checkers". Such things like they have a tendency to check a conservative's statement more often than a liberal statement by about 3 to 1.
