I have been noticing a trend in Hollywood in the recent times, for them to take certain characters and change what we have been accustomed to from the past. Besides certain comic book characters race or sexual preferences, there is now a rumor that they want to make James Bond female

Its one thing to create characters in a comic book mileau to "help increase social awareness", quite another to actually transform the main character into something else.
"But Berno," I can hear someone saying, "Are you trying to imply that a female can't be a MI5 secret agent?" No not at all. I'm just trying to state that if the agent is female, she can't be James Bond. She can be a female version of James Bond, but the cultural identity of that character is as male, he was written to have traits to identify him as male and only as male.
So is it Cultural Appropriation?
