I like it and for those who are concerned about ST 
how many of them still live in their parents basement?

It appears to be an evolution of the old Air Force Space Command logo.
And nearly identical to the Star Fleet Command logo.
So one could argue that Star Fleet Command in the future based their logo on the "old" USSF logo.
As for Trekkies living in their parents' basement, I moved out when I was 19. I'm 65 now and still love all things ST.
Even watch H and I TV for five hours of continuous ST daily (occasionally).
And my parent's house doesn't have a basement.
