I noticed some seconds on the regular size jig for a discounted rate on your site, but as previously mentioned I'll have none of that. First rate here on the Starport (or else what would Lt. Ono think?)

Just as soon as I get my "fully assembled" Mini-Fin Jig assembled......

Really though folks, the only part that isn't assembled are the two guide rails which could, with the way shippers care for packages, could become warped and/or bent if left on the main frame.

All that is required is to loosen four nuts and slide the rails in place. then you're ready to build.

Started using the mini fin jig. I haven't been doing much building, or painting, or flying, or writing, or, or etc. lately. There a number of things been going on to keep me sidetracked.

For this thread, however, I thought I would write about the mini fig jig I received.

Although the results aren't fool proof, if you pay attention and set things correctly you get some really nice results.

Nice pics Bernie! I think the more you use the thing the more you will enjoy doing so. On four fin designs, you can easily check the accuracy by sliding a small 30/60/90 drafting triangle along the flat surface of your table or work surface until it aligns with a fin being installed. Once that fin is glued and set, rotate the body tube 180 degrees and check to see if the opposing fin is parallel. Once those fins are good, rotate either way 90 degrees and repeat the process.

Tri-fin designs are less visually troublesome as they do not have any opposites to worry about.

You might check out Allen Hall's posts on the NAR Facebook page for some unique uses of this tool. In particular, look for his "Marvin Wright Project".

Actually I'm working on a Top secret project in the ultra-high security workshops on the Starport, which would greatly assist in the rotary alignment.
