Naturally! I'm just a barrel of fun. I put the fun in funding!

Progress pictures and a beautiful double rainbow just before sunset. I just lack setting one fin, a launch lug and a recovery harness. I'm a bit rusty but this is coming along well.

Looking good there Ted. Did you find a nose cone yet?

No luck yet on finding the OEM nose cone, but I do have a PNC60 nose that has a 4.75" ogive and a 0.75 shoulder which looks about right. I could make my own out of balsa but I really just want to get this monster in the air on a D12 to a C6-5 and see how it flies. That is the same combination that my 1992 vintage Magnum has and is good for about 1,500 feet, all vertical.

I doubt you will get that much altitude with all of the drag on the booster, but once that drops off, it should soar.

Agree. The sustainer section by itself weighs very little. When I fly this again I will do so when the winds are light, under five MPH if possible. That is if it ever stops raining around these parts!Commander wrote:I doubt you will get that much altitude with all of the drag on the booster, but once that drops off, it should soar.

Right now Exacta is only in the Austin area anymore. The field crew I work with is always emailing us telling us it's raining, going to rain or is expected to rain tomorrow.
